The Kingsmen are so glad that spring is here! We seemed to have been in a perpetual state of snow and cold since January. To be honest . . .I could personally take it no longer.  Thank you Lord for your seasons . . .but thank you Lord for the Spring and the season of your Resurrection!

Be looking for our new live DVD soon at a concert near you. At the time of the writing of this article, we are a week and a half from receiving our first shipment. We know it will be a must-have for all Kingsmen and gospel music fans.

Now on to this month’s Kommentary. It’s a reflection on the state of affairs in our Nation. I am disturbed at the decline of our country and I am beyond mad. It’s time to do something about it before it is everlasting too late. 

One Small Step for Man . . .

“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” - Neil Armstrong.  Here is why this comment is so relevant now. It is the idea that will bring us back to “One nation, under God…”  It seems the war against God that was started with the crucifixion of Christ our Lord continues to rage. Even though we know the outcome. Even though we know John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. “

Let’s review. A quick history lesson is in order, so bear with me. Our founding fathers (half of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Divinity School trained) not only believed in God, they declared Him essential to the course of freedom. This is the opening statement of the Declaration of Independence:

“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation”

Further review of this pivotal US document states:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

So, if there is ANY DOUBT that we were a Nation founded on God, let that be put to rest. 

That being said, the war rages on. The biggest shots were fired in 1962 and 1963. In Engel v. Vitale (1962) the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that school led prayer was unconstitutional. In Abington School District v. Schempp (1963), the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional for the Bible to be corporately read. Our nation told God He was not welcome in our public schools. This is fact. And don’t give me the “separation of church and state” garbage. The phrase or mere idea of separation of church and state does not exist in ANY WAY in the US Constitution or framing document. Again this is not opinion, but fact. Our founding fathers wanted a freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. There is ONE mention of the phrase “separation of church and state” in a speech made by Thomas Jefferson to a Baptist congregation. Jefferson said . . .

“I contemplate with solemn reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State.”

He said this to remove all fears that the state would make dictates to the church, which England had been doing before the Revolution. The Constitution was meant to take government out of church NOT church or God out of government. The historical revisionist would have you believe otherwise.

There have been many shots fired since the 60’s in this war against God – and in particular a fight for the hearts and souls of our children. But now, the very symbol of our American freedom and heritage grounded in God and His word has come under specific attack. In a recent ruling by the 9th Circuit US Court of Appeals, the court has ruled that wearing the American Flag is inflammatory to other ethnicities and the wearing of the American Flag can be banned by public schools. So let me get this straight . . .you can BURN the American Flag as an act of your First Amendment Rights, but the WEARING of the American Flag is not protected under the First Amendment? I have been sitting here in shock ever since I heard of this ruling. Is anyone else upset about this? Anyone?

Little by little the secularists and humanists have been removing God from our country, and our country has been in a steady state of decline. If you can’t see that you are blind. School shootings, teen pregnancies on the rise, dropout rates skyrocketing . . .our children are being taken by the world. Taken from us and God by the world. We try to show them Christ at home and in Church and the schools tell them there is no God. It seems the world is winning. But again I say CHRIST HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD! We can take our children and our nation back. But we have to want it. We have to get as upset as the founding fathers did when they told the British Crown that they had had enough – then they did something about it!

I am not advocating a physical revolution – but a political and spiritual one. So here again I echo the words of Neil Armstrong . . .”One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The small steps each one takes will lead to a giant leap for all. The steps each one must take seem so small, but in point of fact they are huge.

Every election, every vote, every stand for God, every time you stand against Godlessness and public desecration of God, His word, His Son, and every time you stand for this Nation and the Flag she looks toward for remembrance and inspiration – you take those small steps to a greater and more Godly nation.

Are you brave enough? Are you bold enough? Do you love your Nation and your God enough? Most would say YES but actions speak otherwise. GET ANGRY! Christ Himself got angry when He saw the cheating and injustice of the money changers in the temple. Matthew 21 tells this story. The founding fathers got mad when the King of England completely subjugated the people. The bravest of all our generations got angry when we were attacked without provocation in 1941. We are being attacked now. Get angry . . . rise up . . . take our Nation BACK! 

It’s seems like a mountain to climb. Philippians 4:13 says we can do ALL things through Christ who gives us strength. Rely on Him where the strength comes from. And I love this promise from God’s Word:

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Hit your knees and pray that God will heal our land. Get mad and get to the polls during elections and VOTE GOD not man. And stand for what we know is right according to His Holy Word. Don’t back down, don’t settle, don’t compromise. STAND FOR GOD, STAND FOR OUR NATION, STAND! 

He’s a good, good God!
